Wes is in our hands! We are now directly paying for the running of the site.
Posted by: Pav, 2019-08-09, 1214 ViewsHi all -- as most of you have noticed, Wes has been down the last few days. This was because of unpaid debt to the server company. Martin (our admin guy) has been covering the costs, with the help of donations, however his card expired and he'd been saying for a while now he didn't want the responsibility of the bills.
As of today, I added my card details and will be paying for the monthly server costs directly, which amount to a total of 100GBP per month. In order to cover costs, we just need 10-11 people paying 10GBP per month. I've set up a PayPal subscription in this thread so that anyone can sign up to the regular payments. Obviously the plan is just to cover Wes costs, not make any money. Anything extra that we have left over, I will be fully transparent with and we can invest in site development and new features, which would be up to the community.
At present, we have six paying members (but I could be missing others). So we need 3-4 more.
