EN Cup - Round of 16

Early, it's looking like a festival for D1 teams, as 10 of that level's 14 clubs are still alive. Three matchups in the Round of 16 feature D1 teams playing each other, highlighted by EN1 leaders Liverpool (16 points) taking on 3rd-place (as of 1/16) Espoo (4-1-3, 15 points). Liverpool won the first League battle of Season 42, 2-0, carrying 64% of possession and scoring from the spot while Espoo failed.
EN2 bottom feeders Sheffield have identified the Cup as their main priority now that life in D2 has started with just 6 points from 8 matches, despite a 5-1 thrashing of Leipzig Sunday that featured a Rodrigo Schwager hat trick. In the only battle of D2 sides this round, Sheffield (13th) host Kiev (9th). The three other EN2 sides left (Lodz, Manchester, and Stockholm) all play EN1 competition this round.
Volgograd are the lone team left still carrying the flag for EN3. Volgograd has dispensed of Amsterdam and Brussels in tiebreakers to get here and face a serious uphill battle in the Round of 16, hosting Poznan - the 4th-place team in EN1 at the moment.
