Who can dislodge Brasilia?

America North has been a region that has not seen a stable champion for almost a decade, with multiple teams, dislodging each other from the top. However, it seems that Brasilia has now consolidated its position as the reigning, dominant champion in the top division.
The club has now won back to back titles, and was only a Wes Cup final loss away from a treble last season. Its Regional Cup trophy won last season now makes Brasília the club with the most RC trophies in Wes history, just ahead of longtime rival Houston.
In theory, Brasilia is perfectly placed for another strong run at the title this season. The club is home to the most expensive and probably clinical striker in the region, Burke, and one of the best defenses. However, some analysts believe that the club has been fortunate to grab so many wins in the past two seasons and that a more difficult season is possibly due. The midfield has also been slightly weakened by the departure of Wang, the club’s veteran midfielder due to salary cap concerns.
So who can rival the Brazilian juggernaut? The most obvious contender is Houston, which has rebuilt in the last two seasons to become one of the more talented squads in the division. The team contains possibly the most talented young set of midfielders in the world, but youth could be an issue. Few of these players have tasted success previously. However, in Mochtar Houston has one of the most talented young strikers in the world.
Another possible contender is Las Vegas, the club that has just been promoted after a prolonged transition period. OK manager Morland has strengthened the team this off-season with a few veteran signings and also has an impressive young 7 million center forward. But it might be a little too early for Vegas. The team is still young and its defense in particular seems inexperienced.
There’s a few other contenders that might cause a surprise in the division. Most notably, New York and Nashville, which are always in the mix.
The analyst’s view: Brasilia will probably win the title again, but it will be a much more contentious race and a more difficult campaign. Much will depend on the club’s veteran goalkeeper and his ability to maintain performances at 33 years old.
